Mitch Patel is the CEO and Co-founder of Smartempo. Mitch is a Marketing Technologist and brings over 17 years of experience to Smartempo, having worked for leading SaaS companies including Cisco WebEx and Oracle Eloqua. After the Oracle acquisition of Eloqua, he built numerous partnerships from the ground up within the Mar-Tech Ecosystem. Mitch prides himself on extending his domain expertise and knowledge of marketing to his clients and provides them with the best possible solutions. Mitch graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, after which he began his journey to Mar-Tech mastery. Early in his career at Oracle, he worked on a team known as the e-Marketing Group, which built and managed marketing applications before marketing automation became what it is today. His passion for marketing technology had been ignited, leading to numerous opportunities working with B2B marketing visionaries. Years of Mar-Tech exploration later, Mitch began Smartempo to help other businesses achieve smarter marketing. Mitch’s passions extend beyond marketing technology; a golf enthusiast, a huge fan of English football, a love that stems from his UK roots and which has landed him the sweet role of coach for his daughter’s youth soccer team. Mitch is based out of the great city of Austin, Texas.
The lead developer at Smartempo, Christian Barrero is a full stack developer and a Workfront Fusion certified expert. He specializes in the design and development of custom software solutions across platforms for web, mobile, commerce, and more. His technology expertise extends to Microsoft applications as well, which has led him to speak about Microsoft technologies around the world, including the MSP Summit 2014 in Seattle where he represented Latin America. With degrees in Systems Technology from Corporación Adventista and Computer Science from Universidad EAFIT, both in Medellín, Colombia, Christian has taught about technologies at local universities and was named the winner of the Microsoft programming marathon for WP7 in 2012. When he’s not developing apps, giving technology talks, or teaching, Christian enjoys playing video games, soccer, and spending time with his friends and family. Some of his hidden talents include playing the saxophone and knowing sign language.
David Tobon is an automation expert and business analyst at Smartempo, bringing years of experience in project management, product development, and quality assurance. During his career, David has taken part in automation-focused app development projects and developed one of the top ten inclusive business plans in Colombia in 2010. David graduated in Business Administration from Universidad la Gran Colombia in Armenia, Colombia and since has obtained certifications ranging from quality management to French studies. In addition to data science, David’s interests include economics, language studies, and coffee. He is an avid lover of specialty coffees and a committed promotor of coffee culture since 2012.
Daniel Romero is a senior consultant with experience implementing and managing solutions for Eloqua, HubSpot, and Salesforce. For decades, Daniel’s family has been dedicated to the sale and restoration of art pieces. It is this love for art he developed early on that has translated into his passion for marketing. In his free time, Daniel provides marketing consulting services to different artists to help them promote their work. A soccer lover from childhood, Daniel plays an attacking midfielder role on his club team sporting the number 10 jersey of his favorite player Lionel Messi. Daniel is eager to take on new projects and initiatives on the team and is an active mentor to junior team members.
Carlos specializes in marketing automation and work management solutions at Smartempo. A dual threat as a Certified expert consultant on both Marketo and Workfront, he is your go-to guy for all things execution. Making clients happy and taking on new challenges to become a successful team is what matters most to Carlos, and he couldn’t ask for a better team to share these experiences with. Carlos manages big implementations as well as he handles big instruments. He is a professional double bassist, former member of the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, and graduate of Universidad EAFIT in Medellín, Colombia in music studies with an emphasis in double bass. In his free time, Carlos enjoys playing Colombian music on the bass, reading about history and culture, and hanging out with his dogs and cats.
Gabriel is a business analyst and configuration wizard on optimizing work processes. As a Workfront Certified Consultant, he leads implementation projects to make our clients work smarter and more efficient. His experience extends to marketing automation as a Marketo expert and Salesforce consultant. When Gabriel’s fingers aren’t typing away at the keyboard, they’re occupied with keys of another sort. A professional classical pianist, Gabriel spent his pre-marketing days studying and performing music, having graduated from Universidad EAFIT in Medellín, Colombia and performed as a soloist in numerous orchestras and ensembles. Prior to Smartempo, Gabriel had founded a company at the age of 21 and won a Kawasaki team motorbike event. In his free time, he enjoys reading about philosophy, history, and science, and immersing himself in all things motorsports, motorbikes, and sports cars.
Juan has deep knowledge of the different automation platforms used by Smartempo clients. Hubspot and Workfront are two that he is highly skilled. He makes sure to understand his client's needs are and fulfill their expectations. Juan manages marketing automation as well as he manages strings and culture. Juan is a professional classical guitar player and a graduate of Universidad EAFIT. He also has a masters degree in cultural management studies from the Universidad de Antioquia. In his free time, Juan enjoys drawing, playing guitar and visiting his dogs at his farm.
